0. One-line

The Euclidean plane makes \(\ln r\) harmonic off the origin. The Clifford torus does not. Its only harmonics are constants. A 2D harmonic logarithm, read in three dimensions, is a line source. The spherical logarithm has source \(A/r^2\), which is the singular isothermal sphere, the same object as the logarithm. Equating \(g/c^2\) to \(1/R\) recovers \(\sqrt{r_s R}\) and selects \(a_\star\).

1. What is true on the Euclidean plane

On the plane, in polar coordinates,

\[ \nabla^2_{2}f=f''+\frac{1}{r}f'. \]

For \(f=\ln r\) and \(r>0\), this is \(-1/r^2+1/r^2=0\). The flux through a circle is \(2\pi\), so the distributional identity is \(\nabla^2_2\ln r=2\pi\delta^2\). The radial acceleration of \(A\ln r\) is \(A/r\).

In three dimensions the spherical radial operator is \(f''+(2/r)f'\). The same function of the spherical radius has

\[ \nabla^2_3(A\ln r)=\frac{A}{r^2},\qquad r>0, \]

which is the identity already used in §0bn1088. The two operators are different because the sphere and the circle spread flux over different areas.

2. The Clifford leaf does not carry \(\ln r\)

§0bn984: one round \(S^3\) is filled, apart from two linked axis circles, by the Hopf tori \(T_\eta\). The middle leaf \(\eta=\pi/4\) is the Clifford torus, minimal, with Willmore \(2\pi^2\). Calling every leaf a Clifford torus was scored FAIL_IDENTIFY. The leaves carry the two circle actions. Localized integers stay on occupied knots. The empty region stays SILENT. Dark matter stays off this gate. One kiloparsec is \(7.99\times 10^{31}\) Compton lengths. The container's leaves are not seat-sized tori stretched across a galaxy. CL-TORI-DM: \(T_{\mathrm{Cl}}\) is the seat locus inside a local core, the wrong page for a kiloparsec halo. That note names a collisionless halo and does not derive \(\rho(r)\). It does not retire the halo.

The Clifford torus is compact and has no boundary. The only continuous solutions of \(\nabla^2_\Sigma\Phi=0\) on a closed Riemannian manifold are the constants. There is no coordinate \(r\) on \(T_{\pi/4}\) in which a logarithm can be written. The leaf coordinates are the two angles, and both circles have length of order \(R\).

The mean curvature of that leaf vanishes. In the relation between the leaf Laplacian and the ambient Laplacian, vanishing mean curvature removes the term that contains one normal derivative. The second derivative along the normal remains. Setting the leaf operator to zero therefore leaves the ambient Laplacian equal to that normal second derivative. It does not set the ambient Laplacian to zero.

The galactic radius in \(\Phi=A\ln(r/r_t)\) is the radial coordinate of the bulk 3-space. It is not \((\phi,\psi)\) on the leaf, and \(r\ge r_{\mathrm{trans}}\) is not the single leaf \(\eta=\pi/4\). Depositing the galactic flux on an unoccupied leaf is the deposit SILENT refuses.

3. A 2D harmonic logarithm is a line, not a \(1/r^2\) halo

Take \(s=\sqrt{x^2+y^2}\) and \(\Phi=A\ln s\), independent of \(z\). Off the axis, \(\nabla^2_2\Phi=0\), and the three-dimensional Laplacian equals the two-dimensional one. The only source is the axis:

\[ \nabla^2_3(A\ln s)=2\pi A\,\delta(x)\delta(y). \]

That is a line. It is not a spherical density \(A/(4\pi G r^2)\).

The spherical function \(A\ln r\), with \(r=\sqrt{x^2+y^2+z^2}\), is a different function. Its three-dimensional source \(A/r^2\) is present at every \(r>0\). Nothing in the leaf Laplacian cancels it, because the function was not harmonic on a leaf. Applying the spherical divergence to the spherical logarithm, and then calling the result a misreading of a two-dimensional flux, uses one function as the potential and a different function as the excuse.

Orbits and the lapse are read in the three-dimensional space. The source they couple to is \(\nabla^2_3\Phi\).

4. Equating \(g/c^2\) to \(1/R\) selects \(a_\star\)

The work order sets

\[ \frac{g_N}{c^2}=\frac{GM}{c^2 r^2}=\frac{r_s}{r^2} \]

equal to \(1/R\). That equality is \(g_N=c^2/R=a_\star\), hence \(r=\sqrt{r_s R}\). It is the geometric-mean sphere of §0bn1088. The coefficient written in the same work order is \(\sqrt{GM\,a_{\mathrm{sym}}}\). The curvature match and the coefficient select different units.

The sectional curvature of the container is \(1/R^2\), a density of dimension \(1/\mathrm{length}^2\). The tidal field of the mass has that dimension: \(\partial_r g_N/c^2\sim r_s/r^3\). Equating those two gives

\[ r=(r_s R^2)^{1/3}=r_\star\left(\frac{R}{r_s}\right)^{1/6}, \]

with \(r_\star=\sqrt{r_s R}\). Since \(r_s\ll R\), this is not \(r_\star\). The geometric mean is the acceleration threshold. It is not the sectional-curvature locus.

5. The isothermal density is the logarithm's own source

With the convention \(\nabla^2\Phi=4\pi G\rho\) used for \(\Phi=-GM/r\),

\[ \rho=\frac{A}{4\pi G r^2},\qquad A=\sqrt{GM\,a_{\mathrm{sym}}}. \]

The circular speed of this spherical logarithm is constant, \(v_c^2=A\), so \(v_c^4=GM\,a_{\mathrm{sym}}\) and

\[ \rho=\frac{v_c^2}{4\pi G r^2}. \]

That is the singular isothermal sphere. The mass inside radius \(r\) is \(Ar/G\), which grows without a bound as \(r\) grows. a_geom_ft_inverse_rotation_results.md already records the identification: a log potential plus \(v_c^2\) is the same object as a singular isothermal halo. The same note records that one isothermal speed, tuned at \(20\,\mathrm{kpc}\), gives \(255\,\mathrm{km\,s^{-1}}\) against \(220\,\mathrm{km\,s^{-1}}\) at \(8.5\,\mathrm{kpc}\).

The three-dimensional divergence therefore recovers the isothermal profile because the potential was the spherical logarithm. It does not derive that profile from \(\nabla^2_\Sigma\). It does not move the source out of the three-space. It selects \(a_{\mathrm{sym}}\) through \(A\). §0bn1087 keeps that infrared end off the working target. §0bn984 keeps dark matter off the carrier gate and assigns no mass to an unoccupied leaf. CL-TORI-DM does not let the torus page derive \(\rho(r)\).

7. First task

Load §0bn1089. The Euclidean plane makes \(\ln r\) harmonic off the origin. The Clifford torus is compact, so its only harmonics are constants. A 2D harmonic logarithm is a line source. The spherical logarithm has source \(A/r^2\), the singular isothermal sphere. Equating \(g/c^2\) to \(1/R\) recovers \(\sqrt{r_s R}\) and selects \(a_\star\). Do not deposit flux on the empty leaf. Do not fuse the galactic radius with \((\phi,\psi)\). Do not select a unit. Do not bring dark matter back onto the carrier gate. Do not rewrite §0bn1088, §0bn984, or CL-TORI-DM. Phase 2 is not run. Public chips stay OPEN.
