Gravitomagnetics

The gravitomagnetic field from the Weber double-copy of EM. Moving masses generate a gravitomagnetic field analogous to the magnetic field of moving charges. Potentially testable via precision gyroscope experiments.

In General Relativity, a rotating massive body drags spacetime around it, generating a "gravitomagnetic" field (frame-dragging). The CPT framework recovers this effect through a direct double-copy of Weber electrodynamics.

The Gravitomagnetic Double-Copy

In the Weber double-copy mapping, just as moving charges create a magnetic field, moving masses generate a gravitomagnetic field. The velocity-dependent term in the Weber force naturally maps to a gravitomagnetic vector potential.

Deviations from General Relativity

While consistent with GR at leading order, the Weber derivation predicts a critical difference. The CPT gravitomagnetic field retains a velocity-squared dependence, unlike the linearised dependence in weak-field GR.

For the Gravity Probe B experiment, which measured the frame-dragging of Earth, the GR prediction was 39 milliarcseconds/year. The CPT prediction agrees with this value at current measurement precision. However, at higher velocities (), the correction introduces a deviation scaling as relative to GR.

Integrity Status [M]: Maturing

The theoretical derivation is maturing [M]. Future precision experiments, such as LISA Pathfinder or next-generation space-based interferometers, possess the potential to distinguish the Weber-squared correction from standard General Relativity.
