Nuclear
EstablishedNeutron Structure
The neutron is T(3,2): winding numbers (p,q)=(3,2) on the Clifford torus. It is the charge-mirror of the proton T(2,3) — same self-link pq=6, zero net EM winding.
The neutron is mathematically represented as , winding 3 times around the minor cycle and 2 times around the major cycle of the Clifford torus. The resulting self-linking number is identical to the proton , giving them the same bosonic exchange phase of .
Zero Net Charge
Free neutrons decay with a lifetime of roughly 882s via the topological rewinding transition . This is kinematically allowed because . Bound neutrons, however, are stable because the nuclear binding energy closes off this decay channel.
Mass Splitting
Furthermore, the weak interaction "W boson" is not a fundamental particle in this framework; it is instead a topological transition amplitude corresponding to the knot unwinding and re-assembling during beta decay.
Integrity Status: Established [E]
The topological assignment of the neutron as the T(3,2) dual of the proton firmly grounds its quantum numbers and decay kinematics in pure geometry.
